The Dental Hygiene Suite is truly exceptional!  We strive to provide treatment in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere.  Our technology is state of the art and includes:

● Computers in each treatment room for diagnostic purposes, display of x-rays, medical and dental history

● Visual relaxation videos which are presented on flat screen monitors in each treatment room

            ● Sterilization area, using the most up to date techniques for OSHA compliance

            ● Digital radiography, available in each treatment room

            ● Beverage refreshment center

            ● Located on the terrace level which is very handicap accessible

            We are very fortunate to have six wonderful dental hygienists with experience ranging from 8 to 30 years.  Several have been with our practice for over 18 years.  Each of our hygienists completes over 30 hours of continuing education every year and are extremely knowledgeable in Periodontics.

            The hygiene department provides a wide range of services such as:

● Initial therapy that includes scaling and root planing (a deep periodontal cleaning), and lessons in home care instruction and disease control.  Our hygienists will always take time to answer any questions you have regarding your periodontal condition.

● Upon completion of preoperative or surgical therapy with one of the doctors, our hygiene department also provides periodontal maintenance appointments.  This includes scaling and polishing of the teeth, periodontal probings, home care and disease control instructions, cleaning of partial dentures, oral cancer screenings, radiographs and fluoride treatments, if needed.  We also have special instruments to accommodate our patients with implants.  We work in conjunction with your general dentist, and alternate cleaning visits between our offices, when necessary.  We also send correspondence letters to your general dentist to keep him/her informed of your progress.

● Our dental hygienists also have the newest products available to you in regard to electric toothbrushes, flossers, fluorides, dry mouth aids, etc.  For our more sensitive patients, we offer a product called Oraqix.  This is a topical anesthesia that can be applied by the hygienist to the gum tissue during scaling and root planing and periodontal maintenance visits to make your experience more comfortable.
